Clement Atlee
Restoring and Mounting
a Statue

This statue of Clement Atlee was first unveiled in 1988 by Harold Wilson on a site in Limehouse, Atlee’s constituency. Having suffered much vandalism, Queen Mary University offered to sponsor its repair, restoration, and relocation to the main QM campus. Our role was to oversee this work, advise on the statue’s setting, obtain the necessary consents and design a new plinth in Portland stone. It was unveiled in its new location by Peter Mandleson in April 2011.
