London Metropolitan University
Adaptation of a disused library building

25 Old Castle Street is a locally listed building recently acquired by London Metropolitan University. In its original form it was a building which did not function. Much heavy alteration was required, particularly to create the large ground level lecture / auditorium / enrolment space. New mechanical ventilation, lighting and AV was introduced where none previously existed. The building now houses the Parker Collection (furniture), the TUC library, the East London photography library and the Irish in London Collection.
