St Mary Aldermary
City of London
Conservation and Restoration

The church of St. Mary Aldermary, City of London (grade 1 listed) is Sir Christopher Wren’s only gothic city church. A phased repair and restoration programme with carefully managed budgets saw the building repaired externally and internally, including new heating and lighting installations. The stonework repair was complicated by rusting embedded ironwork. The marvellous plaster form vaults were conserved, the monuments, floor and woodwork cleaned, and the entire interior redecorated.
